The Lee Theatre originally opened in 1947 and closed in mid-1970s. It has been carefully restored and reopened in 2013 by the Town of Pennington Gap. Located alongside Pennington Gap Community Center which offers event rental upstairs with a full kitchen and seating for 100. Lower level has classrooms and conference room for business meetings or training.
The Lee offers a variety of entertainment with movies, both as regular entertainment and private rental showings, plays through the cooperation of the Barter Theatre and Virginia's Commission for the Arts, as well as local troupes and organizations, which have become seasonal favorites. Bands and entertainers, locally and nationally, are now showcasing their talents onstage. Sponsors and volunteers help the Town of Pennington make all of this possible.
The Lee Theatre offers seating for 500, including main level and balcony seating. Most shows are general admission, and you can sit in any seat you like. Some shows have ticket-based seating, but it will be specifically stated.
Buy tickets in advance online or the night of the show at the box office.

Parking available along W Morgan Ave, and a designated drop-off area in front of the theatre.
Seats are sanitized before each show. Masks and hand sanitizer are also available.
